The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is one of the 16 national museums in the Netherlands. The collection provides an overview of Dutch art and history, including works by 17th century Dutch masters such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals. The museum has been located in the Rijksmuseum building since 1885, designed by Dutch architect P.J.H. Cuypers.
Due to the large, characteristic windows, a lot of UV-light enters the building. This could damage the art objects and needed to be controlled.
In most areas of the building, roller blinds have been installed using EnviroScreen. With the EnviroScreen fabric, the museum has found a good solution that fits within their sustainable objectives and offers natural daylight to the impressive halls.
